Ho Physical Therapy is owned and operated by physical therapists. At Ho Physical Therapy, our treatment philosophy emphasizes manual therapy with therapeutic exercise in order to facilitate a timely return to pain-free functional status.

Orthopedic Conditions

We use manual skills coupled with appropriate exercise program to provide joint health of the body. Post-operative conditions such as total joint replacement (hip, knee, shoulder), fracture, rotator cuff tear, frozen shoulder, strain /sprain of elbow/wrist/foot/ankle, etc. and, degenerative changes of the joint, can all be benefited from our treatment. We focus not only on symptom relief, but also on the functional improvement of the entire body.

Neurological conditions

We use movement analysis as the main principle of the treatment program. Our goals are to correct faulty movement pattern, to restore normal function and to improve quality of life. Postural correction, body mechanics instruction, gait training, balance training, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, are some of our treatment approaches.

Geriatric conditions

Normal aging complications such as gait disturbance, balance deficiency, osteoporosis, weakness, general deconditioning, etc. can be improved with our treatment program which includes strength training, progressive conditioning, balance training, gait training, Tai Chi, and life style redesigning. We use music, dual task while walking, movement therapy, dance therapy, brain stimulation exercises, etc. to challenge our Parkinson and early dementia patients.

Osteoporosis/Osteopenia

Instruction in proper posture and body mechanics, muscular strengthening, bone/joint loading, balance training, fall prevention, Ju-Vent vibration, healthy diet, etc. are the interventions we provide our patients with diagnosis of osteoporosis/osteopenia.

Wellness Program

We offer bi-weekly wellness program for patients of all ages who are seeking a healthy life style with active participation. This program can be a group class (2-4 people max) or individualized. The four corners of the wellness: flexibility, strength, endurance and balance, will be covered in the class.

Chronic Pain

We specialize in chronic pain management. Education in the cause of chronic pain and central sensitization of the brain are discussed in detail which have been proven by research to be beneficial in the management of chronic pain patients. Positive encouragement to empower the patient in her/his ability to control pain is one of the key management protocols. Aerobic reconditioning is emphasized for general reconditioning. Modalities (heat, light therapy, shock wave, etc.), soft tissue release and manual joint mobilization may be included when necessary.

Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD) and Ear symptoms

We are experts in the management of TMJ dysfunction and related ear symptoms. The symptoms of TMJ disorder include, but, not limited to jaw and facial pain, limited mouth opening, TMJ noises, ear ache, tinnitus, headaches, swallowing/speech difficulty, dizziness, etc.

A comprehensive PT program offers symptom relief through modalities, manual mobilization, education regarding posture and diet, daily exercise, aerobic reconditioning and stress management. Patient will learn how to manage her/his condition and prevent future exacerbation of symptoms.

Rheumatological Conditions

Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, etc. can be managed by modality treatment, stretching/strengthening exercises, aerobic reconditioning, and instructions in joint protection, postural correction, and body mechanics.
